Rinoa's BFF Ariel was having a rough week. That was no fun. And -- inspired by the fact that most of her cabinmates were female (seven of the eight of them, in fact) -- Rinoa had had an Idea.

Which was: a completely ~~disgustingly~~ girly party. Pajamas, make-overs, gossip, and really bad romantic comedies.

Rinoa had her jammies on already, and had made Ariel help her set up. Munchies, make-up, and movies. What more could they want?

She had even posted a few ~~so very handwavey~~ signs outside, in front of their cabin and places where the other cabins might see, with the important points: Girl Party, exactly how girly it was going to be, and NO BOYS ALLOWED.

Except Jono, since he was the eighth boy in the cabin and all. He could be an honorary girl for the night!! Wouldn't he be thrilled?

Especially if someone tried braiding his hair.

- anybody who lives in Landshark, naturally!
- any girl student who wants to come hang out and be nauseated by the frou-frou-ness of it all
- despite the poster, any BOY student who wants to come can totally either (a) run screaming in terror or (b) stay and be girly. Fair warning: staying means you WILL be forced to endure horrific romcoms and probably get your nails painted.

That evil, malicious glint in Ariel's eyes as she grinned almost leeringly at Jono and tapped her fingers together.

Ooooh, they were going to have so much fun!

He was doomed, wasn't he?

Completely and utterly doomed, oh yes.

Ariel could only chuckle at that, rolling her eyes and waving a dismissive hand. Such a kidder! Then she clapped her hands together and gave a speculative look toward all the girly primping stuff before waggling her eyebrows at Jono.

Oh, what to embark on first, hmmm?

If Jono had been capable of a groan, now would have been the time for it!

Really, he probably should have seen this coming.

Of course her, too! Didn't Jono know how girls worked? In packs?

Ariel stuck out her lips in a mockery of a petulant pout because here was Mr. Grumpypants, which she clearly suspected was not going to stay around for long after they got their feminine mitts on him. She couldn't hold the look for long, a grin slipping out and she waved a warning finger at him. Just you wait, Jono, just you wait.

Jono had fear, now. Jono had so much fear.

//I'd run and hide in my alcove,// he shared, //but then I'd be cornered. And so I'm going to stay right here, and I'm going to trust that you're not going to hold me down and try to paint lipstick on me anywhere.//

Because lipstick would never end well.

Ariel pouted increasingly for the missed opportunity, but, where every door closed, there was an open window and, lifting her brows hopefully, she feathered her fingers at her eyelids to indicate that eye shadow could be a good option for him, no? She knew all the neatest, coolest new styles from all her magazine studying at work, no less!

Well, he did have quite lovely eyes...

//Absolutely not!// And a stubborn streak a mile wide, as well. //No make-up! I'm not here to be dolled up, gel, I just live here!//

... Actually, his protests were growing more feeble with every attempt he made.

Another substantial pout, this time thrown in with wide blue eyes behind slowly batting lashes. Ariel brushed some fingers through her hair. Not even that? Not even just the little bit of hairdressing, even?

The blue eyes were cheating. Really, now. With the looking all... adorable and... innocent and...

Look, he could see through it, but he was also a complete pushover, and he'd thank her not to tell anybody about that fact, please.

//... Maybe a little hairdressing.//

It wasn't makeup. It seemed safe.

Whoa, wait, that actually worked?

Ariel, positively ecstatic, beamed, bouncing a little as she clapped her hands and then reached out to take Jono's so she could drag him over to where all the hair stuff was. He did have some seriously nice hair, and she knew hairdressing, honey, so this was just going to be fabulous!

But what if Jono didn't want to be fabulous?

He supposed not wanting to wasn't going to change much, considering he was tripping along after her to the hair supplies, fearing for his life.
