angelo_wings | Land Shark Common Area, Tuesday Night: Impromptu Girls' Slumber Party

Rinoa's BFF Ariel was having a rough week. That was no fun. And -- inspired by the fact that most of her cabinmates were female (seven of the eight of them, in fact) -- Rinoa had had an Idea.

Which was: a completely ~~disgustingly~~ girly party. Pajamas, make-overs, gossip, and really bad romantic comedies.

Rinoa had her jammies on already, and had made Ariel help her set up. Munchies, make-up, and movies. What more could they want?

She had even posted a few ~~so very handwavey~~ signs outside, in front of their cabin and places where the other cabins might see, with the important points: Girl Party, exactly how girly it was going to be, and NO BOYS ALLOWED.

Except Jono, since he was the eighth boy in the cabin and all. He could be an honorary girl for the night!! Wouldn't he be thrilled?

Especially if someone tried braiding his hair.

- anybody who lives in Landshark, naturally!
- any girl student who wants to come hang out and be nauseated by the frou-frou-ness of it all
- despite the poster, any BOY student who wants to come can totally either (a) run screaming in terror or (b) stay and be girly. Fair warning: staying means you WILL be forced to endure horrific romcoms and probably get your nails painted.

Leia had been out all day and returned to the cabin to find...this. "What is going on?" she said, amused.

Helen shook her head. "I haven't the foggiest idea."

Leia grinned. "Looks like someone's having fun," she said.

Helen looked around, a bit confused. "Who?"

"Whoever set up the party?" Leia suggested.

Helen nodded thougtfully. "Yes, that would seem likely."

She hesitated, then dared to ask. "Is... is this the sort of thing most people enjoy?"

"I'm not from this world," Leia said, "but the girls at my old school did similar things." Only there were usually drugs involved, which Leia found very distasteful.

"Ah." She considered that. "I'd never been around other females much before coming here. Certainly not in this sort of a situation."

"I used to go to a school filled with girls," Leia laughed.

Helen considered that. "I'm not sure I would enjoy that."

"Girly party," Rinoa said, which was not 'hey, you don't mind if I use the living room, do you?' but Rinoa was presumptuous like that. "No boys allowed. Make-up and horrible movies. Boys seem to be crashing anyway, so we're making them get dolled up, too. Join us!"

Leia had spent the first several years of her life being anything but girly if she could avoid it, but in her teenage years had learned to enjoy it more. And since it was her cabin, she could hardly be rude and ignore it, right? Especially if they got to makeup boys unwise enough to join them. "I'd love to," she said.

"Awesome," Rinoa beamed. "There are snacks, and there's some liquor, and I'm going to braid some guy's hair and put little clips in it before the night's out."

Which guy would depend on who held still the longest or passed out first.

"Good luck with that," Leia said, managing not to frown at the mention of alcohol. She hoped things didn't get out of hand like they did sometimes at her old school.

Conveniently, the liquor was all very girly and light. Not that people couldn't get smashed on it -- just that it was going to take a hell of a lot longer. Unless they were lightweights, which ... they very well might be.

"I hope you weren't planning on going to sleep early?" she said, suddenly realizing that her plans did, in fact, affect her cabinmates. "We can keep it down, if you need to."

"I don't have any classes tomorrow, so it's not a problem," Leia said, shaking her head.

"The best cabin ever?" Ino offered lightly. "Who else has a party goin' on tonight? Bet it's no one."

Which clearly meant they won the cabin-of-awesome award, yes.

"None that I noticed on the way here," Leia said, amused. "Or if they were they were quiet ones."

"And probably lacking in colour," she said, with a firm little nod. "And girls. We've got quite a few here--Jono's an honorary girl 'cause kicking him out would've been rude."

Also, then he would've had no place to sleep.

"I'm surprised he hasn't run in terror," Leia said, laughing.

"He likes it," she said in a stage whisper. "But don't tell him that we know."

"And I suppose he hasn't been coerced in any way to participate?" Leia snickered.

"I think he just likes being grumpy," she shared. "So he stays around anyway. He's an odd one but that means we get to give him a makeover so it's totally okay with me."

"Good luck braiding his hair," Leia said. "It might suit him."

"He'll look fabulous," she laughed. "Have fun, you."
