Room 421, Friday, Early Evening, Daaaaaaaaaate!

Rinoa had plenty of cute outfits in her closet, but choosing one? That was the hard part. Some of her dresses were too formal, some too severe, and some she just didn't feel like wearing.

Luckily, she'd found that one lavender lace slip dress that she liked. A little bit of accessorizing, some make-up, and she was ready with time to spare.

Which meant she could touch up her lip gloss. As you do.

Rinoa opened the door, almost before he'd finished speaking, and beamed at him.

"You sound formal when you say that," she laughed. "Miss Heartilly. Shall we?"

'Miss Heartilly' sounded nicer than 'Miss Caraway' ever had, anyway.

"Of course," he said, deciding that even if her dress looked like a shift to him it was an extremely nice shift and girls should wear them in public more often. Or maybe just Rinoa should, his mind wasn't particular on that point.

"I am ready when you are. Did you want to walk, or shall I flag down a rickshaw?"

"It's a nice night," Rinoa said, grabbing her coat. The coat had a longer hem than her dress did, which always made her feel as if she were hiding the dress under some kind of mystery cloak. For a grand unveiling later, at the restaurant! (Although he'd seen it already. Shh.)

"Let's walk," she decided. "You can take my arm and we can talk and admire the night sky."

One of the benefits of wearing flats: you didn't mind walking to dinner.

"I was hoping you'd say that," Christian confided. "Not that I dislike the rickshaws, but -- it's always nicer to be out in the night air. are the stars the same, where you're from?"

"Not even close," she said, closing the door behind her. She straightened her jacket and offered her arm to him. "I haven't learned these constellations yet. I can see the patterns, but I don't know what they are. Are your stars the same?"

Christian took her arm and started walking down the hall and toward the stairs. "A few degrees off, but about the same," he said. "I only know a few constellations, though. That one's Orion."

He pointed up and sketched with his fingertip. "See, a hunter with his belt."

She leaned in, following the line his finger made and squinting at the sky.

"I see the belt," she said. "But he almost looks like a box, with those four points around him."

She moved her own finger to indicate them.

"It's his tunic," Christian explained. "And -- you can kind of see his arm is holding a club, up there. You need some imagination."

"Oh, I see," she said, stopping in her tracks to admire it. And perhaps lean in a touch further than was necessary. "Don't tell me you're accusing me of having no imagination."

The club discussion could wait.

"None at all," Christian said. "Creative as a stump, that's you."

His eyes were sparkling. It might be concluded that he was not altogether serious.

Clearly, Rinoa was not one to take that kind of mock-outrage lying down. Which was why she twined her arms around his neck.

"I suppose I'm boring, too," she added.

"Dreadfully so," Christian said, leaning towards her. "I can barely keep my eyes open when you're around."

Which was especially true when he leaned toward her to kiss her, as he did now.

And this? This was another reason why Rinoa had wanted to walk. You could steal kisses in a rickshaw, but it lacked the privacy to really enjoy yourself.

They had time, and she was going to linger here for a few minutes, savoring the taste of his lips on hers.

"I'll try to be more exciting in the future," she said. Which, he should realize, meant she was leaning in for another kiss.

Just as predictable as she was boring, then.

Christian let himself savor the kiss for a long moment, hands wandering up and down her back. "I think you're being plenty exciting right now," he said, when they came apart. "But I may be dull myself."

"Never," she said softly, leaning up to rest her forehead against his. "I can't imagine you being dull. You're too passionate for that."

Romantic, unpredictable, there was something a little untamed in the way he wanted to drink life in. It was intoxicating.

"And you are too sweet to admit I'm dull, even if I am," Christian told her softly.

He never wanted to let her go, not ever.

"I'm not sweet," she insisted with a laugh. "I'm spoiled. A brat. I'd tell you if you were dull. I'd probably whine about it and kick your shins."

Rinoa liked getting what she wanted. Which was probably why her code name had been 'Princess.'

(OOC: zomg, no problem, and my turn to apologize -- my neck was out and I spent yesterday with heat on it trying to sleep. Mega-SP FTW?)
