Rinoa's BFF Ariel was having a rough week. That was no fun. And -- inspired by the fact that most of her cabinmates were female (seven of the eight of them, in fact) -- Rinoa had had an Idea.

Which was: a completely ~~disgustingly~~ girly party. Pajamas, make-overs, gossip, and really bad romantic comedies.

Rinoa had her jammies on already, and had made Ariel help her set up. Munchies, make-up, and movies. What more could they want?

She had even posted a few ~~so very handwavey~~ signs outside, in front of their cabin and places where the other cabins might see, with the important points: Girl Party, exactly how girly it was going to be, and NO BOYS ALLOWED.

Except Jono, since he was the eighth boy in the cabin and all. He could be an honorary girl for the night!! Wouldn't he be thrilled?

Especially if someone tried braiding his hair.

- anybody who lives in Landshark, naturally!
- any girl student who wants to come hang out and be nauseated by the frou-frou-ness of it all
- despite the poster, any BOY student who wants to come can totally either (a) run screaming in terror or (b) stay and be girly. Fair warning: staying means you WILL be forced to endure horrific romcoms and probably get your nails painted.

Puck, who genuinely liked wine coolers (shh, he'd developed a taste for them after buying them for Santana and Brittany so often) and had stuck around, actually didn't drink. "Like with edible panties and stuff? I've never been, but dammit, I should."

This was Starsmore for 'yes please, come in, and be a convenient distraction while I attempt to make a break for my alcove so that I can hide under the bed.'

That evil, malicious glint in Ariel's eyes as she grinned almost leeringly at Jono and tapped her fingers together.

Ooooh, they were going to have so much fun!

Just that. This was Jonothon putting his foot down. This was Jonothon with his arms crossed over his chest, with his hands tucked safely into his armpits, standing his ground and absolutely refusing to be made into a pretty, pretty princess.

Which earned Puck a very lofty look, one that was asking him what of it? One hand met her hip while the other idly twirled the next pillow around by the pillow case. Wound, he said. She was just getting started!

//That look is actually somewhat terrifying on you, luv,// Jono shared. Backing away, slowly. Was the 'no sudden moves, don't break eye contact' thing for girls, or bears, or...

He was doomed, wasn't he?

"I have a discount!" Karla admitted with a straight face--for about ten seconds before she burst into giggles. "It's because I work there!"

"I'm unarmed," he said pitifully, giving her the very best puppy eyes he could. "You wouldn't beat me up when I couldn't fight back?"

Shut up, Puck, that is like your life.

Some blonde girl that Ariel didn't know! Such details didn't seem to matter; she brightly greeted her with a smile and a wave, and then turned her hand around to wave her excitedly in. In, in, in! Much needed and awesome party!

"It's already a fun party just with two of us," Rinoa grinned. "We can throw popcorn at anybody who pokes their head in."

Well, fine. If he was going to be subjected to this until the girls got bored with it, then by all means, he'd be the one to help kick off the festivities.

Because this meant that he wasn't having his hair braided, thank you.

Completely and utterly doomed, oh yes.

Ariel could only chuckle at that, rolling her eyes and waving a dismissive hand. Such a kidder! Then she clapped her hands together and gave a speculative look toward all the girly primping stuff before waggling her eyebrows at Jono.

Oh, what to embark on first, hmmm?

"Nobody's fingers need polish," Rinoa said primly. "It just makes them prettier, that's all. Better that than having someone put ribbons in your hair."

Oh, she went there.

If Jono had been capable of a groan, now would have been the time for it!

Really, he probably should have seen this coming.

So, like, as if she'd miss her own cabin's party, right?

Right.

Which all really just meant that Ino was there, in her jammies and nibbling on munchies for the moment as she tried to guess how many would show up.

"Yes," Rinoa said simply. "Sit down, we'll start with a manicure. Clear polish, even. It won't bite."

'Clear polish' was exactly the same kind of lie as classics like 'just the tip' and 'you can cancel at any time.'

It was also, it should be noted, just long enough to be pulled into cute little pigtails, though.

Karla nodded and clambered inside. "Yup! I'm Karla," she said, in case the female didn't remember.

...And if it meant Rinoa was more inclined to introduce herself, too, well, so much the better.

Awww. He did make a pretty good (and piteous) argument. Looking a little sheepish about the whole thing, Ariel stopped twirling the pillow threatening, slagged her shoulders a little, and carefully considered his proposal. She tapped her finger on her chin and considered the case of honor in beating an unarmed man.

Of course, he was right.

...NOT! Just as she looked about ready to acquiesce, she lifted the pillow up again and sent it flying. It's not like she threw it that hard, though. A minnow bite, at most!

Um, hello. Ariel had feet, which meant toes, which meant she was so brandishing a bottle of pink nailpolish, bouncing a little and wiggling her toes to see who might be able to help her put polish on them.

//It won't bite, no,// Jono groused, //but that doesn't change the fact that we'd be putting varnish on my fingernails.//

Look, he looked gothy enough already. He could get away with black, if absolutely necessary.

This time, though, Puck's reflexes were on his side, and he caught the pillow. And with a cocked eyebrow, he grinned at her, slowly approaching. "You just gave up your weapon, babe. What should I do with this? Hmmm."

*But Jono!* She gave him an innocent look. *You're not looking forward to this?*

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Still, since she liked Jono and decided to be nice, she said quite loudly, "Let the party begin, ladies!" and threw up a few illusory Craft-fireworks.

Ino left her daiquiri (strawberry!) where it was for the moment.

"I think," she said meditatively, "that I'd be dealing with some flailing on epic levels if I got anything from a store like that."

The epic flailing wouldn't really be on her part, no. Unless the whole situation was flipped and then, well, yeah.
