Rinoa's BFF Ariel was having a rough week. That was no fun. And -- inspired by the fact that most of her cabinmates were female (seven of the eight of them, in fact) -- Rinoa had had an Idea.
Which was: a completelydisgustingly girly party. Pajamas, make-overs, gossip, and really bad romantic comedies.
Rinoa had her jammies on already, and had made Ariel help her set up. Munchies, make-up, and movies. What more could they want?
She had even posted a fewso very handwavey signs outside, in front of their cabin and places where the other cabins might see, with the important points: Girl Party, exactly how girly it was going to be, and NO BOYS ALLOWED.
Except Jono, since he was the eighth boy in the cabin and all. He could be an honorary girl for the night!! Wouldn't he be thrilled?
Especially if someone tried braiding his hair.
(OKAY SO:
whore4trash and
furnace_face modded with permission, and they totally rock for jointly inspiring this post. This is in the landshark common room but is totally open tooooooo:
- anybody who lives in Landshark, naturally!
- any girl student who wants to come hang out and be nauseated by the frou-frou-ness of it all
- despite the poster, any BOY student who wants to come can totally either (a) run screaming in terror or (b) stay and be girly. Fair warning: staying means you WILL be forced to endure horrific romcoms and probably get your nails painted.
Wait for the OCD The OCD has been up for hours zomg I hope no one was still waiting!!)

Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-15 10:50 pm (UTC)Just that. This was Jonothon putting his foot down. This was Jonothon with his arms crossed over his chest, with his hands tucked safely into his armpits, standing his ground and absolutely refusing to be made into a pretty, pretty princess.
//No.//
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-15 11:03 pm (UTC)'Clear polish' was exactly the same kind of lie as classics like 'just the tip' and 'you can cancel at any time.'
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-15 11:07 pm (UTC)...
//Have you got any in black?//
Look, he looked gothy enough already. He could get away with black, if absolutely necessary.
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-15 11:26 pm (UTC)Only the tip, Jono! She was gonna pull out!
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-15 11:38 pm (UTC)//And you have nail polish remover on hand, I hope.//
Because that shit was going to be gone the moment it was on, damn it.
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-15 11:44 pm (UTC)She was also going to be holding the nail polish remover hostage at some point.
"You know what would be really cute?" she asked, reaching for his hand with one of her own. The other was grabbing an emery board.
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-15 11:47 pm (UTC)Said the boy who was relenting and letting Rinoa file his nails.
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-15 11:55 pm (UTC)Seriously butch.
"I was just thinking that once we get the nail polish on, we should put little glitter shapes on your fingernails. Like stars and hearts and moons."
You know. It was all the style with truck drivers.
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 12:03 am (UTC)Wasn't it terrifying, Rinoa? Jono certainly thought that it ought to be. Really. Be afraid, and all.
//Glitter.//
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 12:21 am (UTC)So the look she gave him was of the eyerolling variety. "Tiny amounts of glitter," she said. "Hardly noticeable. Not worth this much fuss. You're not allergic, are you?"
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 12:27 am (UTC)For a boy with fire where his lungs were supposed to be, this was either a complete lie, or an absolutely terrifying prospect, really.
//Snot everywhere,// he added, for good measure.
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 12:44 am (UTC)Which meant she was totally allowed to put glitter stars on, once she got the nail polish in place, right?
She was still filing his nails, for now. "You should take better care of your cuticles," she observed.
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 12:47 am (UTC)//My... Wot? Why?//
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 01:02 am (UTC)It would probably smell like a tropical garden.
Wasn't this fun, Jono??
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 01:09 am (UTC)//I don't... You... But...//
He was also running out of arguments.
//Fine.//
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 01:13 am (UTC)"Kiwi melon," she said, helpfully. "My favorite."
Because he was concerned by the flavor in question. Rest assured, Jono: it was kiwi melon.
"There," she said. "Much better. Ready for the polish?"
She should really do a base layer first, of clear, but she had a feeling that once she managed that, he'd bolt. Might as well get the good stuff on while she had a chance.
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 01:25 am (UTC)Good to know. In order to throw them all off, he'd have to go and invest in air freshener that smelled of coconuts, instead.
//Best just get it over with, gel,// he sighed, resigned to whatever hellish existence it was that he'd just plunged into.
At this rate, she might almost have a decent chance with the glitter.
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 02:42 am (UTC)He should probably not freak out that the nail polish was not quite as dark a purple as she'd predicted. Or that it sparkled.
Purple was still very manly. So were the little glittery sparkles. Masculine.
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 08:50 am (UTC)//I'm positively frozen in anticipation.//
Somebody was going to pay for this.
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 03:18 pm (UTC)Really, it was best to ignore doom and march forward like it wasn't there, and usually doom backed down first. At least, if you were Rinoa.
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 06:40 pm (UTC)//It isn't very dark,// he noted. Calmly.
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 07:43 pm (UTC)She stopped to blow on his fingertips. "I wish it dried faster."
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 07:56 pm (UTC)Wishful thinking.
//Please?//
Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 09:24 pm (UTC)Re: Pretty Pretty Princesses!
Date: 2010-06-16 09:28 pm (UTC)For a guy with only half a face to begin with, this was actually a surprisingly complicated expression.
//Right. And I suppose if you were to try to put little glittery teddy bears onto my thumb, you'd be telling me that they'd try to look like fierce tigers or something of the sort, next?//
