Land Shark Common Area, Tuesday Night: Impromptu Girls' Slumber Party

Rinoa's BFF Ariel was having a rough week. That was no fun. And -- inspired by the fact that most of her cabinmates were female (seven of the eight of them, in fact) -- Rinoa had had an Idea.

Which was: a completely disgustingly girly party. Pajamas, make-overs, gossip, and really bad romantic comedies.

Rinoa had her jammies on already, and had made Ariel help her set up. Munchies, make-up, and movies. What more could they want?

She had even posted a few so very handwavey signs outside, in front of their cabin and places where the other cabins might see, with the important points: Girl Party, exactly how girly it was going to be, and NO BOYS ALLOWED.

Except Jono, since he was the eighth boy in the cabin and all. He could be an honorary girl for the night!! Wouldn't he be thrilled?

Especially if someone tried braiding his hair.

(OKAY SO: whore4trash and furnace_face modded with permission, and they totally rock for jointly inspiring this post. This is in the landshark common room but is totally open tooooooo:

- anybody who lives in Landshark, naturally!
- any girl student who wants to come hang out and be nauseated by the frou-frou-ness of it all
- despite the poster, any BOY student who wants to come can totally either (a) run screaming in terror or (b) stay and be girly. Fair warning: staying means you WILL be forced to endure horrific romcoms and probably get your nails painted.

There were already braids starting, in the longer bits near the front of his hair.

"I would think you'd be relieved that I'm not going for the make-up," she said.

Not yet, anyway.

Rinoa couldn't help it. She leaned in, pretending it was something to do with the hair she was frowning at ... then flicked her eyes to meet his, and waited there. Breathing his air.

"No?" she asked.

Squall held the moment there, looking into her eyes, breathing her air... And then shuddered and pulled away. "No," he snapped.

He'd almost kissed her... and then who KNOWS what might have happened?

Kissing. Kissing would have happened, and it would have been great.

Ah, well. It had really looked for a second like he might go for it. That counted as progress, right?

"Fine," she sighed. "No make-up. Just braids."
